Reward yourself as if you are training like a puppy, but that doesn't mean you have to eat the beef liver my little dog does. 😅 On the contrary, your treat should be something specific to you. It could be playing a fun game afterward, doing an aspect of painting you enjoy, drinking a cup of coffee, having a piece of chocolate, going for a walk, and the list goes on.
BUT here is the actual kicker, you shouldn't just give yourself a treat after the sessions you don't enjoy. You should do it after every practice session. Building a routine in your mind gives you something to look forward to from the get-go on the hard days, and having a treat after a fun practice session is like getting some dessert after a good meal. Sometimes, that just seals the deal on a good day.
So, with the "treat yo'self" mentality still trying to hold on, let's make it work for us rather than just drain bank accounts. You don't need something extravagant, just something personal that makes your day a little brighter. You'll find yourself getting closer to being in the mood of my little pup anytime I pull out the treat bag...
