We are our own worst critics, yet we still take the critique of others...Why is that?
Sometimes when we ask for feedback, we select a specific person to affirm and reinforce our own thoughts. It can erroneously boost our confidence or continue the degradation of our spirit.
During the new year, make it a point to be more positive. Only solicit feedback from those looking to build you up rather than tear you down (feedback can work to your detriment regardless of whether it is positive or negative).
Constructive criticism is something to be valued and not taken lightly. It is often hard to come by someone who is altruistic in their advice and genuinely supportive of you.
So, choose wisely, stay positive, and most importantly, keep painting!
