Rufus Wants to Bury You

Rufus
Rufus is the snooty, know-it-all, art critic that lives inside the mind of every artist.

When we think about spring, flowers are often at the top of the list of things that come to mind. There is so much beauty and color all around when they start to blossom.

Why does this matter? Well, spring is also a time of rejuvenation in terms of energy. The sun is out more, it is warmer outside, and something just beckons you to go out the door. Except, many times, spring is also a season we have to wait for in order to get certain chores done.

Rufus knows the season all too well...

Spring cleaning, planting a garden, spring break trips, and the myriad of other tasks that creep up are his bread and butter. Why? Because he will constantly remind you of all the things you need to be doing or should be doing other than painting.

His goal is to keep reminding you of all of the tasks, make you feel like they all need to be done immediately, and keep adding more and more to your mind until he buries you. He wants you to feel so overwhelmed that there is no shot of making it up for air.

Do you know what that does to the beautiful, rejuvenating spring? It turns it into a dreadful, energy-sucking season.

When Rufus starts all of that, stop, take a breath, and realize everything doesn't have to be done at the same time. Make a priority list of what needs to get done and what can wait.

What Rufus doesn't want you to realize, is that just like those flowers, with the right amount of sunshine, rain, and nutrition, your roots will grow deep, and you will blossom.

You're not buried. You are planted.
