Inspiration Is Out There

Woman and Her Dog
“I love to look at art, I love to look at paintings, and I almost feel like the experience isn’t complete until I’ve made something of my own.” – Cecily Brown

Some of the greatest times of inspiration have been looking at others' artwork. Going to the MET? Boy howdy, was I on fire to paint!

But did you know you don't have to be a master to inspire others with your artwork?

While this particular painting was inspired by the work of Anders Zorn, time and time again, I see students' art that inspires me or inspires one another. Each of us has our own lens through which we look at life. It is unique and only the individual is able to look through that particular lens.

Those differences help us to see and to reflect our own perspectives to others. It is trying to look through the lens of another and just having a peek at what they see that inspires us to pull our own lens a little closer.

Hand-painted in Adobe Photoshop CC using the Wacom Intuos Pro and the Wacom Art Pen.
