Hold Up ✋
You wake up in the morning, and the reality sets in. "I have so much to do! There are dishes, laundry, cooking,..." etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, and not to mention, WORK on top of that!
✋ Whoa! Hold up.
🛑 STOP! Stop right there.
Stress can help you rise to the occasion, but too much stress will steal your mental faculties from about you and leave you exhausted. And what's worse?
Exhaustion is also a thief! It will leave your brain foggy and unable to meet the basic functions you need. That leaves you in auto-pilot mode, not creative endeavor-tackling mode.
While "powering through" is often a praised technique and there might be some days you have to, it is not conducive to creating or learning or really much of any higher executive functions. I mean, can you blame your brain? Who wants to cram more stuff in or have more demanded of them when they feel like they're in a tizzy and stretched thin?
I know what you're probably thinking. "Well, that's all fine and dandy, but telling me to avoid exhaustion doesn't change the amount of work I have to get done."
Correct!
This is where you need to get strategic! You want to learn something new? You want to tackle a creative project? Carve out time untouched by any other task! And the best time? Probably first thing in the morning.
The goal is to be fresh! Don't wear yourself out and take away all of your brain power before you even get started. That's like shooting yourself in the foot and asking why it hurts.
