Don't Sit Idle

“If a man devotes himself to art, much evil is avoided that happens otherwise if one is idle.” -Albrecht Durer

Idle time isn't the same thing as relaxing. Relaxing is a calm period with the intent of rejuvenating your mind, replenishing your body, and/or restoring your soul. Whereas idle time is a halt with no direction, no intention, and no benefit, and it can be your worst enemy.

You don't have to always do something with your time, but you should always be intentional with your time. The difference will do wonders for your artwork.

So, rest when you need to rest and work when you need to work, but don't sit idle.
