Dealing with Stress

"I hope we don't get to the point where we have to have the cat stop chasing the mouse to teach him glassblowing and basket weaving." -Joseph Barbera

Are you feeling overwhelmed with creative project ideas? 🥴 Struggling to finish the one you started? 😩 In either case, never fear! There is a solution. 🤗

If you are someone who starts multiple projects but never seems to finish any of them, this can create A LOT of stress. Science shows that all people, even the successful multi-taskers, best function when working on one thing at a time. Get organized and set some goals! Hold yourself accountable or have an accountability partner. Knocking out one project from your list at a time will reduce the weight you are placing on your shoulders.

Now for those of you who stick to one project and don't move on until its finished...this is also a stress monster waiting to happen. The frustration is REAL and builds quickly. Don't feel guilty about taking a temporary break from a piece you are working on and coming back to it later. Sometimes trying something else or just working on projects around the house hits the reset button, so you can then refocus on the original project. Creativity takes time, and sometimes the creative flow just isn't happening that day. Trust me! I've been there.

So, whichever category you fall into or maybe somewhere in between, remember to nurture your inner artist rather than overwhelming them. You can do this, one step and one day at a time. 😊
